Summary: The Japanese representatives, designated by the Emperor of Japan to arrange “any directives issued by the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers,” delivered documents that contained essential information requested by the Supreme Commander for the Allied Forces. On 19 August 1945, these documents were submitted to the Chief of Staff at the City Hall in Manila. The documents are divided into two sections. Section One includes copies of documents written in English alongside translations of documents originally composed in Japanese. Section Two comprises translations of maps and charts that provide additional details to supplement the information found in Section One. The contents of Section Two include maps depicting airfields, statistics on the number of prisoners in the southern regions, locations of prisoner-of-war camps and employment sites, as well as maps illustrating Army and Navy air bases situated in the Kanto region and further west, along with battle order maps.
